Happy Wednesday everyone... today I am getting crafty with Glue Dots Adhesives. I know you all have some Glue Dots in your collection of adhesives and if you don't well let me show you why you need them. Glue Dots are very diverse and they have many different types to help you create some fun projects.
Today I am going to show you how to create a fun coaster for your drinks. Now I know you all take a drink into your craft room and if it is cold it will leave a ring on whatever surface you have. I have a glass topper as my desk is wood but I still do not want watermarks on my glass surface.
Because it is February and Valentines is right around the corner I thought why not create a fun heart shaped coaster.
I started with die cutting this fun heart shape from Avery Elle: Scalloped Pierced Hearts. I die cut on an actual coaster. It is thicker and gives a great base for your coaster. You can purchase at most craft stores.
The felt balls are from Benzie Design.
I am using Glue Dots: All Purpose Multiple Surfaces Super Strength 1/2 dots. They create a strong bond between the coaster and the felt ball and I don't have to worry about the felt balls coming loose.
As you add the felt ball one at a time make sure to give them a tight fit so you have no gaps on your heart. As you can see because I am using Glue Dots there is no mess.
Now that I am finished with the coaster I thought it would be fun to have a background base of this fun designer paper so I used Lawn Fawn: Lacy Heart Stackables dies and Glue Dots: Glue Lines Permanent. Add a few Glue Lines to the back of the coaster and adhere to the die cut shape. Nothing to it and again mess free.
YAY it is done and it took no time at all. Now I have this adorable felt coaster sitting on my craft desk. Don't you just love it and well it is a Heart I mean come on... so fun right? I challenge you to create one too. Hey go wild with your dies and create a different shape. As long as it is big enough for your cup you can have a fun designed coaster too.
Thanks for stopping by.
