A Birthday Wish...

Happy Thursday everyone. So I am sure you all have been seeing all the fires going on here in CA. I do not live close but we are getting smoke and ash coming our way. It is so sad to see how many peoples lives are being affect by this. People really do need to be more careful not to use stuff that could spark a fire in the dry areas of CA. It is so big right now.

On to more exciting things... today I am inking up more of the Taylored Expressions Birthday release. Today's card was created using the new Millie's Birthday stamp and coordinating die set

This set is full of birthday fun. I created the background using Ranger alcohol inks and water. Put some water in a pan and drop your favorite alcohol ink colors in the water then dip a piece of heavy card-stock into it. Have some paper towel available so you can let your card-stock dry. I do not like to use a heat gun to dry it because the paper will curl.

I colored the images using Copic sketch markers and die cut with the coordinating die set. Next I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white card-stock and added a strip of ink blended paper to the top and bottom of sentiment.

Once your background is dry it is time to piece your card together. Use some foam adhesives to give some dimension and glue your sentiment directly to card. Totally simple card to create.

I hope you all have a fabulous rest of the week.
Make sure to stop by again tomorrow.
Have a blessed day!

  3. Fantastic card, especially the background! I didn't know that the alcohol inks could be used like that. I always just put them on a super slick paper and swirled them around. I love learning crafty things from you. Thanks! The image is really cute too.
