Please Read Post...

For the past two years, Vera Yates from Ling's Design Studio has been running a card drive to collect holiday cards for the elderly that lives in nursing homes. She plans to do it again this year. This card drive was inspired by her mom, who said, "Sometime as much as the elderly understand that it might be necessary for them to live in care center or nursing homes, it's still not an easy thing to be away from your family or being away from their home. It can be lonely and some of them might not even have anyone who would visit them. Would be nice if you can get a bunch of cards send to them".

Holidays is about family, about kindness, joy. The holidays are the times when many of them would really feel the loneliness or missing their family. Wouldn't it be awesome if we can bring a smile to their face & brighten their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture to let them know that they are not forgotten.

We want to spread the love to as many nursing homes as we can. If you have any nursing homes in mind that you know would be interested to be included as one of the recipient, please EMAIL Vera Yates and let her know. Make sure the nursing homes is interested to participate and we will also need the name of the place and how many residents do they have (we need to make sure we have enough card).

I hope that you all will join in on this card drive. It will touch the hearts of many people. Details to come later on where to send your cards. Make sure and email Vera if you know any nursing homes. Make sure and have the approval of the nursing home before forwarding the information. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day.

  1. Annette, this is such a sweet thing. I worked 20 years in healthcare and 7 of those years was at a nursing home. I seen everyday how the residents lacked love from their families, not visiting and just being forgotten. It broke my heart. I know this will mean alot to them and such a thoughtful thing. I am going to email Vera and see how i can contribute! Thank you for having such a sweet heart. You are blessed!
